the power of digi tweaking

the greatest thing about Photoshop is the ability to effortlessly manipulate your image with sharpen\blur, blending modes, color corrections, layer effects etc.
its also one of the worst things since you have so many options you can easily get lost if you dont have a clear idea in your head and a lot of times its more a matter of happy accidents than actual meaning. and being able to make decisive decisions is a must to be a good artist.

yesterday i finished an image i did as a gift for my 40k hits on my DA page. (OCs belong to

this is how far i got with brush work and some color correction:

and then i pushed it a bit with some compositing magic:
 and this is a re-compositing of the original image i did today. Photoshop magic only - no actual painting...

the thing is, with the awesomeness that is Photoshop i can redo this image in 20 different ways. BUT. i'll have no idea which one is better (ur welcome to give ur input if anyone feels like it).
i still have a long way to go....
