indie comic fanarts

fanarts i did for two comic projects on Kickstarter .

Bastion 7
a comic by Sean "cheeks" Galloway. it hasn't reached the goal yet but there's still time to back it up. you cant go wrong with "cheeks"!
also Sean and the taffy crew gave a very fun and informative interview on the jogees Chanel.

Mortifera

fantasy\action\comedy\horror comic. this one got funded and they used some of the money to make cool animated trailers (this is one of those rare occasions in which its better to play it with sound off).

here is my fanart:

and this is a little GIF i made from it:

IAC x-men challenge

so i decided to try and win an x-box in the IAC contest - designing a new X-man character.

since there was an actual prize at stake i decided to try and be more serious about it - spend real time on it and ask for opinions as i go. basically, try to do something with a high production value.

i came up with a character idea - "sphinx: the blind seer". and i forced it out in agony for 7 days - during the weekend and after work. here's a little tutorial:

and gif:
final piece:

the thing is, i hated outcome so bad i had to do another one to counter it. something quick and dirty and fun!
i give you - "Fish". did this guy in one layer with the black round brush and eraser tools then slapped some color on it. the whole thing couldn't have taken more than an hour. Huzzah!

i don't see any of these pieces giving me the win but *fingers crossed*!

"weight" challenge.

lately I've realized im doing a lot character oriented stuff but im more of an idea oriented artist. im a lot better with story than in anatomy or form and i realize i miss doing stuff that don't necessarily involve cool posing.

i recently joined a Facebook group that does these sort of bi-weekly challenges and decided that for this challenge i'll see if i can still come up with ideas as easily as i used to. the topic was "weight".
i did one per day for 12 days:
